Using a storyteller voice

Here you can see the children using an iPad during reading workshop. The children are learning to use apps that help them share their learning, but the use of iPads can also support the process of learning rather than just creating final products. In this photo, the children were reading aloud and recording their voices. Then they could play the recording back and listen to see if they read fluently. This helps the students develop self-awareness and the habit of reflection. Once they have an accurate awareness of their fluency, they can work to make improvements.
